Who Are the Pests Project Statement Human expression through a virtual band and a physical record 上班的艺术家 (SHENGLIANGGUI) | 2026 Project overview Who Are the Pests (谁是害虫) is a music and visual art project developed around the virtual band 来福灵乐队. It comprises six principal tracks, one bonus track, a physical CD, a lyric booklet, and related visual designs. The band’s members, voices, and performance settings do not correspond to an ongoing band in the physical world. The experiences, judgments, and expressive intentions that inform the work arise from my own circumstances as its creator. I place human expression at the center of my understanding of art. Technology, commercial structures, and listening habits change how works are made, circulated, and understood, but they do not remove the question of why I want to make a particular work.
